Humane Society of the United States
The HSUS or the Humane Society of the United States is a nonprofit organization in America based in Washington which was founded by journalists Helen Jones, Fred Myers, Marcia Glaser and Larry Andrews in 1954. This is in response to the cruelties done to animals on a national scope and to resolve animal welfare issues as well by integrating strategies beyond the abilities or the resources of local organizations.
Back in 2013, Chronicle of Philanthropy has identified HSUS as being the 136th biggest charity in operation in the US.
